San Diego and on to Mexico

After just a few days home, we were off again. This time to Central America, Our flight from Sydney was delayed waiting for refrigerated cargo so we arrived late in Los Angeles and missed our connecting flight to San Diego by just 7 minutes! Soon we were on another plane and even shopped in the airport before taking a taxi to the port. It was just a short trip as we could see the ship as we were coming in to land. We were on board in time for an early lunch.
We had time to visit the Maritime Museum and stroll the streets before returning to the ship. Yes, we were starting to feel the fact that we had been on the go for about 20 hours.

The Star of India. It spent most of its working life taking immigrants to New Zealand.

                                                                  Sail and Sub.

In the late afternoon, there was a reception for Mariners with free champagne. With the price of drinks we couldn’t miss this event! We felt well welcomed even though not a word of welcome was uttered. Dinner in the restaurant then off to a show. This was followed by another musical event at one of the bars, one of the best ever and after that a little jazz at BB King’s. We had been going more time than around the clock so by then the only thing to do was collapse into bed.
We have had two sea days since and have almost recovered. The great music at night is a problem as we have not had an early night yet! On top of that they have put the clock forward each night robbing us of vital sleep. At this rate we might be too exhausted to set foot ashore in Mexico.
If you read this we made it to Mexico and found wifi in Puerto  Vallarta.

Posted from Puerto Vellata. Having a great trip.

Glad you arrived safe. Your travel agent should have told you you were cutting it fine with your connections. Silly girl.
