Our sail away from Venice was spectacular as we travelled up
the outer canal past St Mark’s Square and into the open sea. Our yacht, the Star Pride has only 100 suites
and the service is very personalised.
Our suite is larger than anywhere we have stayed in Italy except for the
2 storey apartment in Buonconvento.
We woke to find ourselves in Rovinj, on the Istrian
peninsula of Croatia. This was part of
the Venetian empire and still remains very Italian.
Over breakfast, we marvelled at the views of the old town
including the weather vane of St. Euphemia on top of the bell tower of the old
church. We walked the narrow laneways
and peered into little shops selling local Istrian wines, olive oils, jewellery
and artworks. The town has a bohemian
feel and is considered to be an artists’ village.
One of the quiet little nooks in the busy old town of Rovinj
The square with the chucch at the top of the hill. It was a hot climb!

Looks like a lovely spot to visit - except the nudist beach!
So glad the nudist beach part was not expanded with details of a visit with accompanying photos.
