We went up leaving Canezai behind
There were 360 degree views
We then had a walk leg that should have only taken 30 minutes but there was a detour and we also stopped at a restaurant hanging onto the cliff edge that had wonderful views
Mountains and meadows
We reached our third cable car and went from Passo Pordoi at 2240 M up to 2,945 M. Before we started we could see our destination up on the very top of the mountain. You can see a little dot on the left hand side at the top.
Near the top there was a mix of scree and ice. The temperature had dropped.
At the top there was a large area to view in every direction. There were banks of ice left from winter and the views were breathtaking
Across an ice bridge to reach this point.
There we are!
Still plenty of ice around
After descending by cable car to Passo Pordoi we walked through the meadows back to the first cable car. It was downhill dropping back to 1,932 M but the gradient was so steep at times it was very difficult walking. The views were still amazing.
Resting in the meadow of ranunculus and buttercups.
The backdrop was rugged mountains
A day of stunning mountain scenery and a good workout!
Before returning to our hotel we explored the towns of the valley. We drove to Campitello, Penia as well as Alba and Canazei.

Looks great but the critical question is did u drink Belvedere on Belvedere?? And no surprise there was a detour thqt took in a restaurant☺🍴
We have a rule when mountain climbing not to drink over 3,000 metres. As we were a little under we had a few drams from the hip flask!
Looks wonderful. I get vertigo just taking in the photos.
Had dinner with Amanda, Stu, David, Liz and kids. All send love xxxxxx
