Just another day in paradise

The weather tried to stop us but our captain managed to navigate to a safe anchorage in Paradise Bay, named by Norwegean explorers, and we managed an extended period of both zodiac cruising and time ashore.
This was the site of the Argentine base Brown built soon after the Chilean base was constructed.

It was a hard climb in the heavy snow to take this photo..but what a view
A long way from home!

Gail in the snow

At the top we were at risk of being blown away! Not sure just where we might land.

This Leopard seal wanted its tummy tickled ..or wanted to bite off an arm!
Great cruising in the zodiacs

Sorry..out of order..on the way back down
A tide water glacier..it extends out into the sea. Great scenery from the zodiac. Wonderful mountain scenes.

At the end of the day we had a BBQ out on the deck. The temperature was a balmy 1 or 2 degrees.
A wonderful experience and our best day.

So you'll be holidaying at home this winter? Taking in the balmy conditions doing some Nordic skiing at Thredbo? You're looking very accustomed to the weather by now.
