Instead of doing a boat trip we decided to follow the advice of a lady in a dress shop that we had ended up in at Schaffhausen. We caught the train on to Stein am Rhein. We got off the train and looked around thinking that we had made a serious error! We followed the signs that we thought were to the old town and around a corner and over a bridge and there was the treasure that she told us about. Two wonderful medieval towns on the one outing!
Across the bridge
Rob on the bridge.
Everywhere you looked there were old buildings, small restaurants and shops and history.
It is also a car free town. Gail is just outside the city gates.
Lots of markets and shops.
Interesting houses.
Wonderful towers.
Every way you look you can take a photo!
We eventually had to retrace our steps to Schaffhausen and then back to Zurich. On the way another look at the Rheinfall.
The falls are good but we absolutely loved both of the towns that we visited today.
