We are living in the old town for four days so every time we go out we explore a little more and discover something new. It is a happening place...just a tad loud for us at about 4am!
A few photos of the places within walking distance from us:
The Gross Munster dominates.
The Offnungszeiten der Wasserkirche. Did I spell that correctly? The Water Church.
Down by the Limmat River, it is a beautiful part of town.
A beautiful stretch of river and just so clean!
Clean enough for the swans to find dinner.
And clear enough for good reflections.
Lots of sculptures
and fountains.
Medieval history everywhere!
We walked around to the Fraumunster but missed an organ recital by 5 minutes and thus didn't get inside. We will get back if we can.
The church has excellent frescoes
It was a 13th century Gothic Cathedral housing a Benedictine convent.
There are interesting streets and thousands of small restaurants and bars. The place is a little bohemian in character.
The thirteenth century tower of the St Peters Kirche has the largest clock face in Europe.
Looking back across the river to our place in Zurich.
and across the bridge to home.
The highlight of our time in Zurich was meeting up with friends and joining them for dinner at their home. The company, the food and the wine were all good. We talked and laughed for a long time while we sat on their terrace overlooking the lake. Unfortunately our timing was bad as they have to fly out tomorrow. We hope to meet again in Australia.

Weather looks superb. Great photos. Enjoy!
River looks clean enough to swim in - and NO SHARKS unlike the river here! Great pictures of the frescos too.
We had such a great time with you! We are very happy you liked Zurich and the dinner with us! We loved it! See you two soon! Maybe in Australia?!
