Helsinki: City of Modern ideas

We have had a few days in Helsinki on our way to Russia. It is a long time since we were here and we noticed the changes.
It is a modern city with an emphasis on design and fashion. The public art illustrates this with some amazing displays.

The three in shot are divided. The two locals vote one in favour and one against

                         Down on the water front the water babies were at play.

                                   There were interesting foods on offer.

                                         Much more traditional was the Senate square.

                   We visited the Botanic Gardens. This is Rob displaying his love of trees.

We also visited several churches. One was the Church in the Rock. When we arrived we somehow ended up on the roof before finding our way down to go inside.

                          This is the traditional way of drinking beer.

                        The locals are into the party scene and are good nightclub attendees. Gail is selecting her outfit. She shed her raincoat before the nightclub.
