We were so close to our hotel that we walked from our river cruise to the hotel.
We spent the morning at the Van Gogh Museum but it has a no photo rule, So we offer you a selection of souvenirs from the museum shop. A quick email and we could rush back in the morning to purchase.
We would have purchased but our hotel has a free mini bar along with nibbles. One of Van Gogh's most famous paintings is the "Potato Eaters"!! We had to make do with free beer, gin and tonic and white and red wine. The mini bar is now empty!
Anyone for a bicycle seat cover, Very popular with the Dutch, This is from his famous painting of almond blossom to celebrate the birth of his nephew who was named after him.
A matching bicycle bell
A dog food bowl for munchies. Van Gogh obviously was not a cat person!!
We moved on from the Museum Quarter and down to the Royal Palace, Louis Napoleon decided that the Town Hall would make a good Royal Palace. Today the Royals live in The Hague in a quiet seculed place,
One of the rooms. The lights from the chandeliers made it difficult to capture on film.
There were huge images on the floor to show coastlines first explored by the Dutch. Most of the world. They didn't get Australia quite right!!
Opposite the Palace was the Magna Plaza. A bit like The Queen Victoria building on steroids!
We also saw the National monument before walking back to our hotel to enjoy the luxury
