Cancun is a new City. Up to 1970 there was a coconut
plantation and over the next few years the city was established to support the
tourist industry
We have spent our few days in Cancun but have done very
little. Our first stop was at a luxury all inclusive beach resort where we
relaxed and enjoyed the cocktails and restaurants. Even the mini bar was
included but who needs a mini bar when there are beach bars, a lobby bar and
swim up bars. By the time we left for our downtown hotel we needed a rest!
Our second hotel was much quieter and we spent lots of time
recovering. We found a Laundromat and by the time we left we were more relaxed
and totally up to date...except this blog that has been delayed in Cuba.
At the beach just before dusk.
Very pleasant setting.
A Pirate ship sits in the harbour!
Gail...or is it Ruth the Pirate
A Party boat heads out

We had planned to visit another Maya archaeological site but
we needed our break. The vagaries of our travel plans have us back in Cancun
for another 2 days but we will be trying our third hotel.
We were up at 4.00 AM for our shuttle to the airport and our
early flight to Havana via Mexico City. Lots of time flying for such a short
distance gained! We are now enjoying Cuban life and looking forward to our
Cuban adventure.
