Another long drive today to reach Campeche but another Maya site in the morning. We stopped at Champoton on The Gulf of Mexico for lunch and after reaching our hotel were soon out again to explore this old walled city. The walls were in place to protect the city from the pirates who were happy to loot and steal the gold and silver.
