Leipzig : City of light and music

We had no great expectations for Leipzig. We nearly didn't come!
We read that it was inferior to Dresden. Well we love it!!

We came up on a side line to the main route to Berlin and in no time we were  partying in the square.
The markets are celebrating harvest and a festival is in full swing. In no time we had beer, wine and bratwurst and were singing along in our best German.

We also attended a performance in St Thomas' with the famous Thomanerchor. This is Bach's church. He was choirmaster and organist and his remains are in front of the altar. This choir of about 100 young boys sing unaccompanied and are as good as the Vienna boys or Kings College choirs.

Off to Quedlinburg tomorrow. Three trains and a bus!!!
