Museum Island

We have spent a couple days in Berlin so far, most of it on Museum Island.  This is within walking distance of our hotel right in the centre of the city.  Museum Island is home to five of the most important of the many museums in Berlin as well as the cathedral. We visited the cathedral on our first day and climbed the 270 steps to the top of the dome for a bird's eye view over the city. We bought a museum pass which allows us entry into more than fifty of the museums over three consecutive days.  So far we have visited only three!!  We spent more than two hours in each of them and they were all stunning.  We saw the bust of Nefertiti but unfortunately no photos allowed. We saw so many wonderful displays such as the treasures from Troy, sculptures, coin collections - we were overwhelmed.  We will continue our quest for knowledge today.
