Gail and Helen remained on the ship while Tony and I visited the massive engineering works that comprise the Delta Works.

When we visited the seas were calm and the tide was going out.

I was complacent about floods in Newcastle and not needing a flood barrier until I saw the latest flood maps! This engineering is astonishing. Don't worry, all of Newy will be underwater except us.
